Richie, your death continues to leave a massive hole right at the centre of our family life. We think of you all the time, and still can't quite believe you are gone. I will never get over the grief of losing my husband, and our children's father.

We have all moved forwards as best we can. Your beloved boy is a junior doctor now, your adored girl an artist. I have a partner who loves me very much, I love him too, we all get on as a new family unit, we laugh a lot.

But underlying it all is your loss, which I will never fully come to terms with. We love you, we miss you. Kate, Amy and Jake.
